About Casey
When Casey called it a day back in 2019, it felt like a premature demise. Their two full-length albums – 2016’s Love Is Not Enough and 2018’s Where I Go When I Am Sleeping – had firmly established the Welsh five-piece as one of the most exciting bands in Britain’s alternative scene in just a few short years.
Some four or so years later, the band have returned; not only to sold out crowds on their first reappearance on stage, but also with new music in hand. ‘Great Grief’ was the first song to emerge from their resurrection, a gorgeously gloomy track that sees the band expand on the layered soundscapes that underpinned the songs of their second album Where I Go When I Am Sleeping. It’s quintessential Casey – broken, bruised and bloody, but simultaneously shimmering with beautiful defiance. The latest single ‘Atone’ begins as a brutal blast of post-hardcore noise, but soon transforms into an overwhelming swathe of dark calm, a breath held as the world burns.
One listen to the new songs, and it’s clear the band needn’t worry about the integrity of their fresh creative vision, nor their emotional investment in it. Both songs are quintessential Casey, open hearts dripping with the same kind of pain and trauma that defined the band from the start. Because Casey songs don’t just replicate the feelings that inspire them – they embody them. That hasn’t changed.
‘The UK shows of the tour are being brought to you in partnership with Rise Above Cancer, and we’re proud to announce that £1 of each ticket sold will be donated to their work. They’ll also be making an appearance in Cardiff, so you can learn more about what they do directly, and learn about other ways you can support the cause.’ – Casey
“We’re incredibly grateful to Casey for supporting Rise Above Cancer – not just to through their generosity, but for giving us a platform to connect with people, share what we do, and have meaningful conversations with those affected by cancer.” – Rise Above Cancer
