About Hackney Colliery Band
“One of the greatest live bands we have in the country” BBC Radio 2
Hackney Colliery Band, purveyors of the modern brass band sound that originated from the bayous of New Orleans and the mining communities of England, are heading up a 2 night residency to celebrate their most ambitious album to date at the legendary Scala as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival.
‘Collaborations: Volume One’ is the start of a major new project for the band, collaborating with artists from across the wide spectrum of genres the band has always embraced: jazz, world music, hip hop, soul, rock and electronica. By far their most ambitious project to date, HCB have invited both Grammy award-winning artists and newcomers alike to join them on record, as well as live on the Scala stage, to make this two night run incredibly special.
Don’t miss out on the chance to see HCB, along with their talented guests, live for a night of raucous, glorious brass that will turn the whole venue into a united feet-stamping, chorus-chanting, wild-dancing mass.
