On Sunday we ventured to Citadel Festival in Gunnersbury Park. Headlined by Tame Impala and treated to a very special performance by Chvrches, who played Scala back in 2014, it was the perfect end to a sunny London weekend.
We caught up with two incredible new bands that are headlining Scala later this year, Sports Team and Sea Girls.
SPORTS TEAM
Not performing at the festival but instead spinning all the Sunday hits in The Hidden Jungle presented by So Young Magazine (who will be returning the favour by DJing at their headline show in September), we caught up with them just as the sun started to go down and Fat White Family finished their set on the main stage.
The effortlessly cool six-piece from Cambridge are making huge waves in the UK music scene with their energetic live shows and incredible EP ‘Winter Nets’.
Sports Team are playing Scala on Tuesday 19th September and they’ve got huge plans for their biggest headline show to date. Support comes from Fur + Ugly + P-arrallel + So Young DJs.

SEA GIRLS
Playing to a packed Clash & Last.fm tent at Citadel on Sunday and hitting every UK festival there is this Summer, Sea Girls are gearing up for a massive Scala headline show on Thursday 18th October.
They released their third critically acclaimed EP ‘Adored’ in June and have been playing nonstop live shows ever since.
You can expect the catchiest indie hits and a headline show you won’t be forgetting about any time soon. Support comes from The Pale White.
