About Los Palmeras

One of Argentina’s most famous Cumbia band is coming to London for the first time to perform at Scala London on Sunday 1st November.
Los Palmeras formed in Santa Fe, Argentina in 1968 with the idea of performing local cumbia with a touch of chamamé, a traditional rhythm from the northeast of the country. The original singer known artistically as Yuli Palmeras inspired the name of the band as people would chant “los Palmeras” wherever they went.
For over 5 decades, Los Palmeras have managed to conquer multiple generations of cumbia lovers with their contagious rhythms and their lyrics loaded with feelings and real stories, releasing over 40 albums which included iconic hits such as ‘El Bombón’, ‘Soy Sabalero’, ’Así es que Vivo Yo’ and ‘Por Primera Vez’.
Los Palmeras are an emblem of cumbia music in Argentina and this will be a rare opportunity to see this legendary cumbia band live in the UK.
