About Hidden Orchestra (Live AV Show)
We are excited to welcome back to the Soundcrash stage the electronic collective Hidden Orchestra – each performance a moving and unforgettable experience, this time with the London exclusive debut of their full live AV show, taking place this year at Scala, November 20th 2013.
Their mesmerising live show consisting of electronics, bass guitar, strings and two live drummers has seen them gain a rapidly expanding fan base across Europe and further afield. Their headline solo London shows have been a highlight of the Soundcrash calendar and it will be an experience to witness them alongside their never seen before new visuals…
“An array of undeniably beautiful sounds… Reich-meets-Portishead territory”– BBC MUSIC
Edinburgh-based Hidden Orchestra combine two live drummers, organic samples and dubby basslines to make cinematic, emotive, percussive music. Resplendent with layers of intense soundscapes, it takes audiences on a deep and truly original sonic journey containing elements of classical, drum’n’bass, rock and hip hop, moulded into a coherent whole. To see them in a lifetime is a must. This is not just a show but an experience to remember…
Supporting is Floex, an electronic music composer from Prague, initially released his debut album Pocustone back in 2001, using his background as a clarinet player to blend thirteen tracks of soulful music blending nu jazz, trip hop and an eclectic range of influences to critical acclaim. Having since released two more albums and worked on various soundtracks, he’s become known for his innovative blend of ambient soundscapes and carfully composed beats. Twelve years on, Pocustone has become somewhat hard to find, so has just been released via his own Bandcamp. His most recent endeavor – The New Floex EP “Gone” features a remix by Hidden Orchestra out on August 23rd on Denovali Records.
