About Danny Rampling
Music visionary Danny Rampling is a pioneer. An iconic club DJ and former BBC Radio 1 and Kiss FM Broadcaster, Danny started one of the first seminal Acid House club nights in London, Shoom , that became a catalyst that has helped to shape dance music for over 20 years. Danny Rampling made his name being one of the top spearheaders of the Dance Music Rave scene in the UK in the late 80’s, and was the mastermind behind adopting the much loved Smiley Face logo to represent the movement, which has undisputedly become one of the most recognizable and synonymous emblems with dance music culture as we know it today. As a DJ for Kiss FM, Danny extended his influence over dance music and the changing attitudes of young London. He has became a household name in the UK after hosting BBC Radio 1’s Love Groove Dance Party and gained reputation internationally after touring the world and selling over a million compilation albums. As a result Danny has become a brand unto himself – building an global army of fans and a vast array of top business contacts.
In addition to his busy International touring schedule, Danny is also a regular at high profile private parties and fashion events spinning for George Michael, The Pet Shop Boys, Mick Hucknell, Gloria Estefan, Depeche Mode, Patrick Cox and Boy George, and occasionally programs the music soundtracks for leading high fashion catwalk shows. Danny became a trustee of the Last Night A DJ Saved My Life Foundation in 2011, leading to speaking at the House of Commons on behalf of the Charity, uniting the Government and the global Dance Music Community for the project House The House raising awareness and funds for humanitarian and environmental causes. Danny Rampling remains at the forefront of the music industry and retain’s a unique awareness that he passes on through his private music consultancy business, and wrote the book Everything You Need To Know About DJing & Success, originally launched in 2009 as a downloadable e-book, has recently been published by Aurum Press. To supplement this 350-page DJ Bible, Rampling shares his 20 years experience of the industry, and the hardback release comes with a four hour DVD of inspirational interviews courtesy of leading figures in the DJ industry including Pete Tong, Joey Negro and David Morales.
