DESCRIPTION:\nRocket have had a busy few years. The Los Angeles crew with f
 riendships stretching back to their\n\n\nchildhood formed in 2021\, conven
 ing in an unmarked shed to put their debut EP to tape. Despite it\n\n\nbei
 ng the first time Alithea Tuttle (vocals\, bass)\, Baron Rinzler (Guitar)\
 , Cooper Ladomade (Drums)\n\n\nand Desi Scaglione (Guitar) had ever seriou
 sly approached the idea of a ‘band\,’ they seemed to arrive\n\n\nfully
  formed with combustible\, airtight songs.\n\n\nR is for Rocket\, the quar
 tet’s remarkable debut album\, is a joyride through sonic terrain that i
 s\n\n\ngloriously loud\, anthemic\, bombastic and beautiful\, with instant
 ly captivating songs that achieve the rare\n\n\nfeat of evoking nostalgia 
 while sounding completely new. Tracks such as “One Million\,” “Wide 
 Awake\,”\n\n\n“Crossing Fingers” and “The Choice” display Rocket
 ’s dreamy intensity\, with their thick blast of guitars\n\n\nand driving
  rhythms balanced by Tuttle’s sweetly hypnotic vocals and dynamic shifts
  that leave you\n\n\nweak in the knees. The band’s jagged\, fuzzed-out s
 ound has antecedents in ‘90s guitar bands like\n\n\nSonic Youth and My B
 loody Valentine\, but Rocket are doing something uniquely their own with t
 hose\n\n\ntouchstones. It’s no wonder they are widely considered one of 
 the most promising guitar-forward bands\n\n\nof their generation.\n\n\nWhi
 le the album builds on the energy of their critically lauded Versions of Y
 ou EP\, R is for Rocket is\n\n\nalso hugely evolutionary\, elevating the b
 and’s craft in major ways. By the time they began work on the\n\n\nalbum
  in early 2024\, they’d been on a near constant touring schedule\, spend
 ing countless hours on the\n\n\nroad opening for their heroes Ride\, Sunny
  Day Real Estate and Silversun Pickups\, and writing in their\n\n\nmodest 
 studio – a back house in drummer Cooper Ladomade’s parents’ yard –
  both refining and\n\n\nexpanding their sound.\n
