SUMMARY:PISS at Scala - Wednesday 24th February 2027 - 6:30 pm until 10:15
 pm
DESCRIPTION:PISS is a noisy\, genre-bending four-piece band from Vancouver\
 , B.C. Combining punk\,\npoetry\, sound collage\, performance art\, and vi
sual art\, the band creates a\nmultidisciplinary body of work that blurs t
he line between personal and political.\n\nPowered by thoughtful musicians
 hip\, energetic live performances\, and a crystal-clear\nartistic mission\
, PISS writes punk music that aims to transcend the limitations of a\nwell
-established genre. Their work draws inspiration from a range of unexpecte
 d\ninfluences: literary giants\, philosophers\, filmmakers\, painters\, ps
 ychoanalysts\, activists\,\nchildren\, members of a German anarcho-feminis
t militant group\, and conversations with\naudience members. These voices
represent varying ideological beliefs about\ngender-based violence and ena
ble PISS to create art that depicts challenging and\ncontroversial issues
such as sexual violence and enculturated gender norms without\nreduction\,
  romanticization\, polemics\, or dogmatism.
