The Spanish hip hop scene wouldn’t be what it is today without the priceless contributions of Ignacio Fornes Olmo (Albacete, 1974), also known as Nach. For the last two decades, as rap music has gained strength and reached unfathomable levels of professionalism, he has been one of the most popular and well-respected MCs.

So much has happened since Ignacio made his début as Nach Scratch in 1994 with the demo titled D.E.P., followed by Trucos in 1997. They provided a glimpse of what was yet to come in his first album in 2000, which displayed his originality with the evocative title of En la brevedad de los días.

Nach has always been known as more than a rhymester. This rapper poet has a special ability to connect by contemplating the emotions that form part of our daily lives. He delved further into this creative form of expression in his next three albums for the record label Boa Music with Poesía difusa (2003), the maxi single Juega (2004) and the double album Ars Magna – Miradas (2005).

By the time the genre was fully established, Nach was known simply as Nach. He was signed by the multinational Universal, which exponentially boosted his popularity with albums such as Un día en Suburbia (2008), earning him a Gold Record.  This achievement would have been unthinkable five years earlier, but it became a reality thanks to Nach’s awareness and lack of musical barriers.

This new broader vision resulted in one of his best creations in the form of the song Ellas (from his album Mejor que el silencio, 2011), a duet with Ismael Serrano that was both unexpected as well as exciting and emotional.

Since then, Nach has recorded two more albums—Los viajes inmóviles (2014) and A través de mi (2015)—and the later includes El hip hop que yo sé, a sort of declaration of principles.

Hip hop is the only way of life for Nach, who is a true thoroughbred and a reference for thousands of kids who walk the streets filled with dreams and an undeniable need to communicate with others through the search of beauty. His rhymes are bound together with blood, sweat and tears.

Rock Sin Subtítulos is pleased to announce the UK debut of this incredible artist and urban poet on the 26th of November at Scala in King’s Cross, London. There will be a great deal of interest, so stay tuned because the venue has a limited capacity.
