SUMMARY:Lonely Robot at Scala - Sunday 20th December 2015 - 7:30 pm until 1
 1:00 pm
DESCRIPTION:Lonely Robot\, the new project masterminded by producer\, guita
rist and vocalist John Mitchell (It Bites\, Frost*\, Arena)\, recently rel
eased its debut album Please Come Home and now they are pleased to reveal
a special live show at Scala.\nJohn had this to say about the live dates:\
n\n “The reaction to the album has been overwhelming\, and I can’t wai
t to present these songs in a live setting with a full band. Expect some b
rand new material\, which will be on a new album coming early next year\,
plus maybe a few special guests.”\n\nThe Merch Desk are offering VIP pac
kages for the London show which you can find here \n\nJohn will be joined
on the night by Caroline Campbell (bass)\, Liam Holmes (keys) and Craig Bl
undell (drums).\nA video for the track ‘Are We Copies?’ was also recen
tly launched\, and you can view that here\n\nPlease Come Home has been rec
eiving some fantastic reviews\, with Prog calling it “one mighty stateme
nt of intent” and Fireworks stating it’s “one of the finest pieces o
f Prog Pop”.\n\nBacked by the storming rhythm section of Nick Beggs on b
ass and Craig Blundell on drums\, the album also sees guest appearances fr
om Peter Cox (Go West)\, Nik Kershaw\, Steve Hogarth (Marillion)\, Heather
Findlay\, Kim Seviour (Touchstone)\, Jem Godfrey (Frost*) as well as narr
ation provided by British actor Lee Ingleby (Master &amp\; Commander\, Har
ry Potter).\nJohn Mitchell had this to say about the project: “I’d lon
g thought about doing an album where I could have total control from start
to finish with the music\, lyrics\, production\, and choosing who I wante
d to contribute - expanding from the idea of just a solo album. Musically\
, this album is very proggy\, but more about atmosphere than technical exp
ertise\, inspired by my love of science fiction and interest in the evolut
 ion of the human race.”
