About Low Island
After selling out two nights at Corsica Studios, Low Island return to London in April 2018 for the biggest headline show yet at the legendary Scala.
A band a lifetime in the making, Low Island are Carlos Posada (vocals, guitar, keys), Jamie Jay (vocals, guitar, keys), Jacob Lively (bass) and Felix Higginbottom (drums, percussion). Since meeting at primary school they have been bouncing from rehearsal room to rehearsal room with each other for as long as they can remember. Low Island, the most potent incarnation of their musical brotherhood, formed just over a year ago. Practice makes perfect, and the Oxford quartet have concocted a magical sound that is all their own.
Fast forward only a year, and they’ve played sold out shows across the UK, including four in London alone, as well as being playlisted on Radio 1 and amassing over 2.5 million streams on Spotify. Add to that performances at festivals such as Reading & Leeds, Latitude and Kendal Calling, as well as support from some of the UK’s most influential DJs, and it becomes clear that 2018 is going to be a huge year for one of the country’s most exciting new bands.
Their most recent tour involved reaching out to artists from different fields in each city they visited, collaborating with them on projects that could be performed or shown at the gigs. Scala will be no different, with the band looking to put on their most ambitious show to date.
